Presentation of the Icy Dock MB994SP-4SB-1 Metal backplane four 2.5 ”SATA 6 Gbps bays for a 5.25” bay. The MB994SP-4SB-1 is conceived as the popular MB994SP-4S model. It resumes its general concept, but with a SATA interface only and a switch for the fans. In addition, there is only a single 4-pin connector for power, which reduces the number of cables. The MB994SP-4SB-1 enables many users to use this backplane with reduced costs. The two 40mm cooling fans plus the power switch for the fans will favor the best flexibility - you can turn off the fan when using the SSD and turn it on when SATA hard drives are working. Cherry on the cake, uses “Active Power” technology, only the fans are switched on when the hard drives are installed.

MB994SP-4SB-1 is designed in metal to adapt to the most demanding environment. Includes breakout vents on the side, in front of, behind, back and bottom for maximum air circulation in order to keep hard drives at an ideal temperature. An LED is placed on the facade to indicate at any time the status of the hard disk used.

The MB994SP-4SB-1 also uses our new EZ Mini Slide Tray which allows you to simply swap and maintain hard drives. The trays are constructed entirely of metal for durability, yet still lightweight. And with an integral cage design, the added outlet bushing offers additional protection for displacement of the discs. The trays are also designed to accommodate 9.5mm, 12.5mm and 15mm thick discs. and they offer you one ultimate hot-swappable universal 2.5 ”bay.

Thanks to its small format, the MB994SP-4SB-1 is ideal for gaming PCs, servers or Mini PCs that need a large storage capacity but limited by a single 5.25 ”bay, especially RAID 5 systems. compact. It is designed to operate under the most demanding conditions, including military and police deployment, as well as manufacturing conditions such as on-board control systems and factory automation systems. The metal design is ideal for placement in harsh environment.
