The PEXUSB3S44V 4-port USB 3.0 PCI Express card allows the addition of four dedicated 5 Gbps USB 3.0 ports to a PC with available PCIe x4. The independent port architecture improves USB 3.0 performance by transferring data to the computer on four separate channels, allowing for faster file transfers.

When multiple devices are connected, traditional single-bus USB 3.0 cards share the maximum bandwidth between all ports. Since four host controller chipsets are used, each port works separately on a separate transmission channel. By dedicating up to 5 Gbps to each USB port, it reduces performance bottlenecks and effectively quadruples the total available for bandwidth to 20 Gbps.

Enhanced with UASP (SCSI protocol with USB connection) support, this USB 3.0 controller has 70% better performance than conventional USB 3.0 protocol when connected to a box with UASP support. (Note: UASP requires a compatible operating system). By utilizing a more efficient protocol than traditional USB BOT ("Bulk-Only Transport"), UASP technology optimizes transfers by allowing multiple commands to be processed simultaneously, greatly increasing connection speeds for a less waiting time in your data transfers. For USB devices that require a lot of power, this USB 3.0 PCIe card includes an optional SATA or LP4 power connector that allows you to connect to the system power supply and obtain up to 900 mA of power per port for devices powered by USB 3.0 bus (500 mA for USB 2.0). The USB 3.0 card also complies with the USB 1.2 battery charging specification (Apple mode only), which allows charging compatible Apple devices (iPhone and iPad) faster than a standard USB 3.0 port.

The controller card is compatible with USB 3.0 standards, and backward compatible with existing USB 2.0 / 1.1 devices. For added versatility, this USB 3.0 PCIe card is equipped with a standard profile bracket and includes a low / mid-height profile board that allows installation on compact computers.
