Noctua NH-D12L

The NH-D12L is a low-height, 120mm class CPU cooler that has been designed to combine super-quiet cooling with superior case compatibility. Measuring just 145mm tall (13mm shorter than Noctua's conventional 120mm models), it can fit into many 4U cases as well as narrower tower cases, which were previously limited to solutions with 92 fans. mm. At the same time, its five heatpipe and double tower design, as well as the latest generation NF-A12x25r 120 mm fan, allow us to achieve a level of efficiency that surpasses many of the 120 mm and taller models. Thanks to its single fan configuration as well as its asymmetrical fin assembly, the NH-D12L provides 100% RAM compatibility in AMD sockets AM4/AM5 and LGA1200/LGA1700 by leaving room for memory slots. Equipped with Noctua's renowned SecuFirm2™ mounting system, Noctua's award-winning NT-H1 thermal compound, and including a 6-year manufacturing warranty, the NH-D12L is the perfect choice for applications that require good cooling but cannot accommodate the NH-U12A due to its larger size.

While conventional Noctua 120mm CPU coolers have a height of 158mm, the NH-D12L measures just 145mm. This allows it to fit not only in a wide range of 4U rackmount server cases and many tower cases that are not wide enough for 158mm drives, but also in some small form factors (SFF). larger sizes and in Mini-ITX cases.

Despite its reduced height, the NH-D12L can easily outperform 92mm coolers. It can outperform even famous 120mm units like the NH-U12S and often comes close to Noctua's signature, award-winning NH-U12A model.

Noctua's NF-A12x25 fan was first introduced in 2018 and is widely considered the best 120mm fan on the market. The circular frame variant used in the NH-D12L provides the same excellent level of quiet cooling and also allows the overall height of the heatsink to be reduced without compatibility issues with tall motherboards of heatsinks or skins.

Thanks to its asymmetrical design, the NH-D12L does not protrude into the RAM slots of Intel LGA1851, LGA1700, LGA1200 and LGA115x, and AMD AM4/AM5 boards, ensuring easy access to modules as well as compatibility 100% with DIMMs that have high heat spreaders or RGB lighting.

The NF-A12x25r 120mm fan included with the NH-D12L supports PWM function for convenient automatic speed control via the motherboard – full performance under load, virtually silent when idle . Additionally, for even quieter operation, by using the included noise reduction adapter, the maximum fan speed can be reduced from 2000 to 1700 rpm.
