The Adaptec HBA 1100-8i 12 Gbps Host Bus Adapter has 8 internal SAS/SATA ports in a low profile MD2 x8 PCIe Gen 3 form factor. Based on the Microchip SmartIOC 2100 SAS/SATA protocol controller, the 1100-8i HBAs can add device performance to the limits of the 6.6 Gbps PCIe Gen 3 host bus and achieve up to 1.5 million IOPS without overhead or additional latency. HBA 1100 adapters also have 40 percent power savings compared to previous generations and significant power advantages compared to competitive solutions.
